Naibor Camps

who we are

Through our dedicated team, our luxury tented camp offers incredible hospitality

Established 12 years ago in a stunning corner of the Masai Mara, Naibor Camps was initially designed and created by the well-renowned lodge and camp designer Anthony Russell and is owned by three like-minded Safari experts: Nigel Archer, Satyan Patel and Anthony Cheffings.

With a dedicated professional team of Chefs, Guides, Front/Back of House Staff and Managers all extending warm hospitality, Naibor Camps has been privileged to welcome discerning guests from around the world.  Naibor Camps proudly supports and involves nearby Masai communities, employing many of our staff from neighbouring towns and villages.

Our staff bring with them a wealth of knowledge, experience as well as a vested interest to nurture our incredible surroundings for the good of the people, wildlife and environment.

Meet the Team

Daudi
naibor head guide

Daudi was one of Naibor Camps’s original employees and has been a guide with us for almost 10 years. Growing up in Wamba, a small town in Samburu, Daudi wanted to be a conservationist and fell in love with guiding.

He first trained as a guide through Ecotraining both in Samburu and Nairobi and from this always knew he wanted to work to help preserve Kenya’s wildlife.

His favourite animals to observe with guests on safari are elephants and baboons because they are always active. He is an experienced guide and currently studying for his Silver level qualifications.

Craig & India
camp managers

India and Craig joined Naibor Camps as our Camp Managers in June 2016. Craig grew up in Nanyuki, on the slopes of Mt. Kenya, where he developed a passion for wildlife and the natural world. This passion has lead Craig to work in the hospitality and tourism industry in various camps and lodges throughout Kenya for the past ten years. He is a keen birder and loves sharing with guests the rich birdlife at Naibor Camps.

Originally from New York City, India began her career working in communications for NGOs and nonprofits in the U.S and Kenya. She worked in Nanyuki for the BOMA Project before coming to Naibor Camps. India has a love for all animals (especially Naibor Camps’s resident dwarf mongooses) and wildlife photography.

JACKSON
guide

Jackson is an accomplished guide with over 10 years experience. He began his career guiding in his home of Amboseli before joining Naibor Camps in 2011. Jackson is a very conscientious driver with a clear passion for wildlife, conservation, and politics. He is an avid birder who particularly loves the lilac breasted roller.

Jackson enjoys meeting guests from all over the world and getting to share the beauty of the Mara. He is currently studying for his Silver level qualifications.

wilson
head chef

Wilson has a true passion for cooking and has worked as a chef for over 20 years. Starting his career studying at Utalii college in Nairobi, Wilson has since developed his skills by working in various hotels and camps across the country before Naibor Camps was lucky to have him join our team as a Sous Chef in 2010.

Wilson has grown and shown incredible creativity in the kitchen and since 2015 has been our Head Chef. His favorite meal at Naibor Camps is our signature sizzling steak.
